(Chessington, UK – July 16, 2019) Callaway today unveils arguably one of its most beautiful irons ever with the launch of Epic Forged, an ultra-premium, meticulously crafted, and finely engineered multi-material design for discerning golfers.

Every surface, detail and technology of the Epic Irons package has been created to exacting standards and precision to deliver exceptional feel, a beautiful, pure sound at impact with the ball, and premium distance and playability characteristics thanks to a wealth of proprietary Callaway technologies.

Forged from 1025 Carbon Steel, and finished in a luxurious Platinum Chrome sheen, Epic Forged Irons have been engineered featuring a dynamic Suspended Tungsten Core – the first time this has been achieved in a Callaway forging.

Each custom tungsten weight, which allows for the CG in each head to be precisely positioned to control launch, has been wrapped in a TPU over-mold and then suspended with Callaway’s patented Urethane Microspheres.

The microsphere technology removes unwanted impact vibration from each head without slowing the performance of an astonishingly thin and fast 360 Face Cup.

Dr. Alan Hocknell, Senior Vice President of Research and Development, Callaway Golf, said: “The Epic Forged Irons offer golfers a sublimely satisfying feel at impact with incredible distance capability. They will be a market-leader in terms of ball speed. We have created an unbelievable performance combination here, and a remarkable achievement in golf club design and engineering.”

Providing spin and control in the mid and long irons, Callaway has implemented a new VFT (variable face thickness) pattern to promote consistent spin rates and ball speeds.

In the short irons, a metal-injection molded tungsten weight has been resistance-welded higher in the body to control trajectory and allow for aggressive shot-making.

To complete the performance package, ultra-premium components have been selected to match the exceptional look and feel of Epic Forged. Aerotech Steelfiber FC and Mitsubishi Tensei AV Silver shaft options are available to optimise feel and control, and Golf Pride Tour Velvet Align Silver Grips, complete the set.

Epic Forged highlights:
Ultra-premium forged design for pure sound and feel
Incredibly pure feel, with exceptional sound and turf interaction at impact from a Forged 1025 Carbon Steel body. Patented urethane microspheres comprehensively absorb unwanted vibration without slowing the face.

Controlled launch and distance from a Suspended Tungsten Core
For the first time in a forged iron, the Suspended Tungsten Core suspends the custom tungsten weight using Urethane Microspheres, precisely positioning the CG.

360 Face Cup for industry-leading ball speeds
The 360 Face Cup employs a shallow, flexible rim around the perimeter of the face that flexes and releases at impact to promote fast ball speed.

Spin control VFT for consistent distance
To provide spin and control in the mid and long irons, a new VFT pattern has been used to promote consistent ball speeds and spin rates.

Ultra-premium components
Available in stock Aerotech Steelfiber FC and Mitsubishi Tensei AV Silver shaft options, and Golf Pride Tour Velvet Grips.

(Chessington, UK – July 16, 2019) Callaway, the #1 Hybrid brand in golf*, today extends its incredible Epic Flash product line with the launch of Epic Flash Hybrids, engineering many of their most advanced technologies to deliver total performance for enhanced distance and forgiveness.

Epic Flash Hybrids are all about ball speed and by using Callaway’s innovative Jailbreak Technology, featuring two internal bars that link the crown with the sole to stiffen the face and transfer more energy at impact, they promote maximum distance on every shot.

New Metal-Injected Molding (MIM’ed) tungsten weights have been designed into each pear-shaped head to optimise launch and ball flight characteristics. One is precisely positioned inside the hybrid, and a second is located on the sole to perfectly manage swing weight.

This process uses finely powder metal, significantly heavier than steel, to create precision engineered parts that are then strategically set to improve the performance of each club.

For the first time in a Hybrid, Callaway also uses its innovative and proprietary Triaxial Carbon fabric, called T2C, in the crown – the same material used in Epic Flash Drivers.

Its tighter weave allows further weight to be removed from the crown and redistributed lower and deeper within the head to promote an easy launch, increase forgiveness and enhance both distance and accuracy on miss-hit shots.

“A wide spectrum of playing abilities will see significant performance gains from these new hybrids, which sit between our current Big Bertha and Apex product lines, and will most likely appeal to the 6-15 handicap range. They also perfectly complement our Epic Flash Drivers and Fairways,” said Dr. Alan Hocknell, Senior Vice President of Research & Development, Callaway Golf.

A new, lighter OptiFit 3 Hosel offers total adjustability giving golfers the opportunity to precisely dial in their optimal ball flight and preferred shot shape.

Available in 3H, 4H, 5H and 6H models, the Epic Flash Hybrids are completed with a Mitsubishi Tensei AV Silver shaft (mid launch, mid spin profile).

Epic Flash Hybrid highlights:
Fast ball speeds from Jailbreak Technology and an ultra-thin Face Cup
Jailbreak Technology incorporates two internal bars that stiffen the body, placing more impact load on the face to promote fast ball speed and long distance.

Enhanced launch and trajectory control from MIM’ed tungsten weighting
Precisely shaped MIM’ed tungsten weight optimises CG for launch and control while an external MIM’ed weight precisely dials in swingweight.

Controlled launch and more forgiveness from a T2C Triaxial Carbon Crown
Lighter Triaxial Carbon fabric has a tighter weave; the weight it saves versus a steel crown is redistributed within the head to lower the CG for a controlled launch, and to raise MOI.

Optimised adjustability and control
New, lighter OptiFit 3 Hosel makes it easier to dial in launch and optimal ball flight. A premium Mitsubishi Tensei AV Silver shaft offers mid launch and spin profile.
